FAQ: Products & Services

Frequently Asked Questions

1. How much does a Gro-O Garden package cost?

Packages range from about $100 (small barrel) on up. Our most popular package is $1199.

2. What do the Gro-O Garden Packages include?

Delivery and installation of a raised planter filled with organic soil, compost, wire, weed liner, seeds and/or plants of your choice, and 30 days of free maintenance (30 day guarantee).

3. Do the Gro-O Gardens come with irrigation?

Irrigation is included in the $1,199.00 price of our most popular package, the Good Thyme Garden (4' x 8' x 18").

4. How much organic food will I grow?

Several factors go into the size of the harvest, many of them are unpredictable. For example: severe weather, unexpected plant damage due to pets or animals--squirrels, raccoons, rabbits, etc. From Better Homes and Gardens: "that $2 tomato plant can easily provide you with 10 pounds of fruit over the course of a season." So while Mother Nature doesn't guarantee a bountiful harvest, if you purchase Gro-O's Complete Maintenance, we will guarantee that your garden will produce or we will supplement your harvest with local organic produce.

5. I don't have enough room for a garden. How can I still grow my own food?

Our raised gardens are custom built to fit in any area. We also offer wall, vertical, small patio sized planters and container barrels.

6. What if it gets too cold or too hot in my area?

We offer the Grow Camp, a 4' x 4' x 15" or 4' x 8' x 15" raised planter kit that includes a greenhouse top with a top frame making the total height 5'. It also includes netting to protect plants from insects and acts as a shade cover.

7. What if I don't have enough sun?

Most vegetables need at least 6-8 hours of direct sun. If they don't get enough light, they won't bear as much and they'll be more susceptible to attack from insects or diseases. If you don’t get 6-8 hours of direct sunlight we suggest other areas around your house. What about your front yard? Or you could do a moveable container garden; try potted herbs or a barrel.

If you don't have a spot in full sun, you can still grow many leafy vegetables such as lettuce and spinach. And if you're in a hot-summer climate, cool-season varieties such as peas may do better in part shade.

8. How can I grow a garden when I don't have enough time to tend to it?

Gro-O will maintain your garden for you. We offer several maintenance services to fit your needs. Complete (starting at $99.97/month) and Seasonal (starting at $29.97/month) for a 4' x 8' raised planter.

9. I want to learn how to grow my own organic food myself. Will you help me?

Yes. We suggest you begin with the Complete Maintenance Plan so our gardeners can teach you for a few months, then taper off by switching to the Seasonal Plan so you'll have continued support and benefit from our discounted prices on garden materials.

10. Do I get to choose my plants?

Yes, we provide a seasonal list of plants to choose from at the free estimate meeting.

11. How long does an estimate take?

Approximately 20 to 30 minutes to analyze the garden space and discuss what you want out of your garden. The total time depends on how many questions are asked.

12. The Gro-O Name Change.

Yes, we may have shortened our name from groOrganic to Gro-O, but our mission has never wavered. We're still committed to cultivating healthy lifestyles and bringing organic gardens to you.
